'Rock Angelz,' a New Line from the World's #1 Fashion Doll Brand, Puts the Bratz on CD with an Album of Rock-Pop Hits This Summer

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 2005--"The Girls With A Passion For Fashion" are ready to rock. Cloe, Sasha, Jade, Yasmin and Roxxi are the Bratz Rock Angelz; characters in the Bratz line of lifestyle fashion dolls, a worldwide phenomenon; whose debut self-titled album is set for release July 26, 2005, by Hip-O/UMe. The album features new, original songs by some of the world's most successful writers and producers of upbeat, anthemic pop. "Rock Angelz" brings Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company, together with MGA Entertainment, a leader in consumer entertainment products for children of all ages. On August 1, a few days after the album's release, the new Bratz Rock Angelz line of fashion dolls will appear on retail shelves.

Among the 13 tracks on "Rock Angelz," under the supervision of Engine, a leading music special-products developer, is the album's first single, "So Good," one of two songs written by Andreas Carlsson and Jorgen Elofsson, whose credits include Britney Spears' "(You Drive Me) Crazy," *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" and recordings by Backstreet Boys, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan and Clay Aiken. The single goes to Top 40 and Hot AC radio with a June 28th add date supported by a CGI animated video released the same day. Two other album tracks were written by Matthew Gerrard (Hilary Duff, Eden's Crush, Jessica Simpson, Raven-Symone, Nick Carter), who co-wrote the #1 hit "Breakaway" for Kelly Clarkson. "Rock Angelz" will also include a special bonus track, a Spanish version of "So Good."

While "So Good" and other songs are performed by the Rock Angelz as a group, several tracks on the album are solo efforts by Yasmin, Jade, Roxxi, Cloe and Sasha, each matching the distinct personality of the character. But all of the songs embrace the philosophy of the Bratz brand: self-expression, staying true to one's self, having self-confidence, believing in girl empowerment, and having a passion for living life.

Music will also accompany the dolls at retail, with a mini-disc/CD-ROM featuring each character's solo song plus an edit of "So Good" to be included with each doll sold. Other products set to be issued are video games by THQ in October.

Bratz (aka "The Girls With A Passion For Fashion") have won more awards and received more press than any other fashion doll brand since their debut in 2001. Bratz have once again been nominated for Best Character Brand and Overall Brand of the Year for the 2005 International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) Excellence Awards. The winners will be announced on June 22.

Lacey Chabert :)

* Is the voice of Eliza on the Nickelodeon cartoon THE WILD
THORNBERRYS

* Was among celebrities dishing out $250 meals in the
fifth-annual Celebrity Server Dinner at the Palm Restaurant in
L.A., with proceeds benefiting Victory over Violence. (October 11,
1998)

* Was among celebrities dishing out meals in the third-annual
Celebrity Server Dinner, with proceeds benefiting the Homeless
Health Care Los Angeles. (October 1996)

* Her last name, which is French, is pronounced shuh-BEHR.

* Has a dog named Abu.

* Played the role of Cosette in Les Miserables on Broadway (and
occasionally, even Gavroche, a boy character) before taking the
role of Claudia on PARTY OF FIVE (1994)

* Was originally selected to play the role of Young Lily in the
movie RETURN TO THE BLUE LAGOON, but bailed out of it for
unknown reasons.

* As an avid photographer and a strong supporter of programs
that encourage teens to spend their time creatively and
productively, she judged and promoted Eastman Kodak
Company's The Yearbook Click, a national in-school
photography contest for the 1999-2000 school year.

* To say that Lacey is actually playing the violin on PARTY OF
FIVE (1994) is a bit misleading. While Lacey's background in
violin does allow her to provide convincing bowing and fingering,
the instrument she plays on set is muted, and another
musician's playing is later dubbed in.

* Was originally chosen to play Chloe Steele in LEFT BEHIND:
THE MOVIE (2000), but a scheduling conflict made that
impossible. Janaya Stephens got the role instead.

* The character she plays in NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE
(2001) is a spoof of the role her former PARTY OF FIVE (1994)
classmate, Jennifer Love Hewitt, played in CAN'T HARDLY WAIT
(1998).

* Was Miss Jr. Mississippi

* Talents: Dancing, Golfing, Ice Skating, Piano, Roller Skating,
Singing, Violin

* Favorite Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio

* Favorite Actresses: Jodie Foster and Claire Danes

BRATZ Nominated for Five International Licensing Excellence Awards ... As well As Seeing a Q1 Market Share Increase

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 2005--MGA Entertainment has announced that its wildly popular Girl's Lifestyle and Fashion Doll brand BRATZ(R) has been nominated for a stellar Five LIMA (International Licensing Excellence) awards. The nominations include:

-- Best Character Brand License of the Year -- Bratz, MGA Entertainment

-- Best Character Brand Licensee -- Hard Goods: Hershey Mexico, Bratz Brillo Lips

-- Best Character Brand Licensee -- Soft Goods: Accessory Network, Bratz luggage, back-to-school accessories, stationery and headwear

-- Best Character Brand Licensee -- Soft Goods: SGFootwear, Bratz footwear

-- Best Overall License of the Year -- Bratz, MGA Entertainment

In 2004, MGA/BRATZ won awards in both the Best Character Brand and Best Overall License of the Year categories, the latter being the Licensing Industry's equivalent to "Best Picture" of the year. The awards ceremony will take place at the LIMA Gala Ceremony on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in New York City.

In addition, 2005 Q1 market share in the U.S. of BRATZ was up 8% over the same period last year, according to The NPD Group. Early indicators show that the Company's sales for Q2 continue to climb and look to strengthen into the summer and fall months. MGA CEO Isaac Larian issued this statement: "MGA's market share would have been even higher in the first quarter if we were able to keep some key popular products in stock. Also, we are extremely proud of our LIMA nominations for 2005 as the BRATZ brand continues to grow in popularity worldwide."

MGA Entertainment, a consumer entertainment products company headquartered in Van Nuys, Calif., manufactures innovative lines of proprietary and licensed products, including toys and games, dolls, consumer electronics, home decor, stationary and sporting goods. BRATZ was introduced in June 2001, and has since become one of the world's premiere toy lines and girls' lifestyle brands. The BRATZ brand is also noted for having won Family Fun magazine's Toy of the Year Award four years in a row. With over 350 licensees worldwide, BRATZ brings together innovative companies and cutting-edge fashion styles to create exciting new products in apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, entertainment and so much more.
