MGA Entertainment and BRATZ Creating Non-Stop Excitement at
Retail
Los Angeles, California - Business Wire- January 28,
2005—MGA Entertainment, a leading consumer entertainment
products company and manufacturer of the wildly popular
BRATZ‚ brand of Fashion Dolls and Accessories, have
announced that its 4th quarter sales were spectacular and beat
forecasts at retail. Items that were particularly in demand during
the Holiday 2004 shopping season include the BRATZ Tokyo a
Go-Go`, Twiins` and Secret Date` lines of fashion dolls, as well
as the new BRATZ Babyz`, which launched in mid-December
2004.
"I am absolutely delighted with this result," said MGA CEO Isaac
Larian. "Our sales would have been even better if we'd had
enough inventory of our hottest-selling toys for the last quarter."
He adds, "The sales of our new 2005 line are way above
expectation, with increases anywhere between 30 to 90 percent,
depending on the retailer, for the first few weeks of January as
compared to January 2004. There is tremendous excitement in
store for 2005 and we believe this will be our best year yet in
terms of sales for MGA and BRATZ, worldwide."
Manny Francione, DMM of Toys "R" Us, Inc commented, "I was
impressed by the new 2005 MGA line pre-Christmas and the
positive feedback from our guests that have continued into
January."
The NPD Group issued the following statement: According to a
special weekly consumer study conducted by The NPD Group,
MGA Entertainment's unit sales indexed higher than other top
manufacturers across all toy categories in the last few weeks of
December 2004 when compared to the last week of October
2004.
In addition to the outrageous new BRATZ Babyz` for spring 2005,
the new line includes BRATZ Treasures`, Fabulous BRATZ`,
BRATZ Pretty N' Punk` and BRATZ Sportz` fashion dolls and
accessories, as well as the new Lil'Bratz Beach Bash` mini-dolls
and playsets. This summer, the first BRATZ CD music project
will be released by Universal Music Enterprises (UME) followed
by the debut of BRATZ in
State-of-the-art CG animation in an all-new DVD movie coming
from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment (FHE).
MGA Entertainment, a consumer entertainment products
company headquartered in
Van Nuys, California manufactures innovative lines of proprietary
and licensed products, including toys and games, dolls,

Make a wish come true :)
This was so touching..
I wish I could see a picture of the room too!
Wishes Fulfilled
Peoria
Brock Spencer
Imagine getting one day to do whatever you want.
One Heart of Illinois girl is doing just that with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
Growing-up, Casandra Pace says her daughter Ariana has always been easy to please.
So, she knew a makeover at Miss Dot-E-Dots would cheer Ariana up, after her recent hospital visit.
Since she was a little girl Ariana's been fighting a disease called sickle cell.
Pace said, "it's been kind of hard for the past couple years because her dad is deceased. So, I'm basically handling it on my own with her getting sick and her having to go to the hospital every two weeks."
But, today Make-A-Wish is treating Ariana to a new look.
A little bit of glitter, some mascara, and a touch of lip gloss all help to put a bright smile on Ariana's face.
"It was all about the same, just the lip gloss was a little cold,” Ariana reacted.
Ariana also found herself modeling a new outfit and finding a new friend and dance partner in Jessica Meyer.
Meyers said, "yes, I would definitely like to spend time with her and take her places and hang-out with her."
But the fun didn’t stop there, Ariana had another wish.
“Ariana said, “I've never had a real make-over before and I wished to have my room completely redecorated."
While Ariana was off getting her makeover, the Make-A-Wish crew was hard at work remodeling her room.
Seven volunteers started with an empty room and a long list of things to do.
Cheryl Smith with the Make-A-Wish Foundation said, "Ariana asked for her bedroom to be re-done. She wanted a Bratz theme, with pink walls, a canopy over her bed, and to include a fish tank, and some type of TV. She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to get a Bratz TV.”
All of this work had to be completed in one day.
Ariana already has plans when she sees her new room.
She said, "Sit there for the whole day.”
And, cherish the moment of a dream come true.

Complete Bratz Checklist :)
Whooo hoooo, finished the full Bratz Checklist otherwise known as "The Big Bratz List"
The best compliment of all is when MGA's customer service asked if they could recommend the page to customers who asked for Bratz collection info! It was made for mainly new Bratz collectors who can't find a full checklist but hopefuly will be useful to anyone looking for info. Its still going to be added to, improved upon etc etc.. :) *yay* All suggestions and picture donations and all that nice stuff welcome :)

Cute UK Bratz Magazine!
This is so cute! Its obviously a "tween" magazine with fun
fashion stuff and movie star gossip but its just packed with Bratz
art and pictures, advice column answered by the "Bratz"
themselves and other cute things. They have a great WW
themed poster, its so adorable. Now I was told I can't scan stuff
for you guys, no surprise there its copyright stuff :) BUT I can
personally say if you do subscribe to this just for the fun of it you
will like it and it will be a cool additon to all your Bratz collection.
Its a well made glossy magazine and MGA has approval over
everything in it so any "hints" they give inside about future things
is for real
:)
From the looks of the poster to come in the next issue this mag
is worth getting just to get these pretty posters alone!
:)

Thanks whoever you are!
People have been posting defending the Secret Date line and I posted this review under SD Yasmin's listing on amazon.com:
"Stop blaming toys, January 1, 2005
Reviewer: Bratzworld.TV "snowflakebebe" (New York City!) - See all my reviews
The only point negative bashing of a toy is going to make is how people will blame everything but themselves for problems they think kids will or do have. If a girl becomes a hooker its not the dolls she owned it was her rotten upbringing and life experience. If a girl starves herself its not the silent toys in the toybox it was the teasing or abuse from others and family and the lack of control she felt over her life. If your daughters have questions about sex or boys or dating and no one answers them because they want them to remain little girls forever- that won't stop them from finding out from someone else. If you one day find out they know things you don't want them to know- it wasn't the doll, it was you refusing to live in reality. You'll find if some of these people were in some fantasy realm able to force this doll off the market the same old things would happen and they would dig around for some other toy to blame rather than look at what they may have done wrong or things they could have improved. Good fortune has put us in the USA and thankfully just because a group who want to blame dolls because they want scapegoats wants the dolls off the shelves it won't happen. Don't try to force people to only have available what you want them to have. So in every single way you have failed here and have managed to give this line a lot of free publicity and now they will sell better than ever. bratzworld tv "
And then under SD Nevra is this review :)
Bratz bashing&banning = answer to our society's problems?, January 2, 2005
Reviewer: MsM "~just when you thought things couldn't get worse ~" (Low Lands) - See all my reviews Please consider the question above for a moment. And think hard before answering it. There is an EXCELLENT piece written by Bratzworld on one of the other Secret Doll pages. I think that one said it all. It's silly to keep a doll's influence responsible for the events in the life of a human being.
And then again, it's YOUR OWN interpretation. Apparently a lot of people that commented on these pages don't think Bratz are immitating "whores". What matters is what your KID will associate the doll with. If you are THAT afraid of Bratz dolls, all I can assume is your 6 year old already KNOWS and UNDERSTANDS what a "hooker" is and what she does for living. And knows and understands what adults do or may do on a date.
Am I wrong? Then please, what are you people afraid of? There is also a review written by a kid. Maybe you should all pay a little more attention to what she has to say. The concept of a special night out isn't new. It's in many G rated movies and animations. It's your own responsibility and task to teach your child about this world. The way people are warning against them makes me wonder if Bratz' influences are stronger then those of parents? If that is really the case, then who of all parties is responsible for the mess in the real world? I think I made my point.
I don't know who that is, and its a great review too - thats pretty cool huh? Its great how many people are posting good reviews for the SD line!

A possible lead in the Charity theft
There was a really mean thing that happened to a charity at Christmas time:

This seems to be their first lead in this. Some people are so sick to steal from children during the holidays.
Well, hope they catch the creeps!

Police investigate children's clothes, toys found in trash
By Kelly Marshall
The Sun News
Thee Pawn Shoppe owner Jimmy McKenzie was walking his new puppy, Elvis, on Wednesday when he noticed unusual items in a trash bin near his business on U.S. 17 North.
Bags of tiny clothes, toys, jackets and shoes were crammed in the garbage can behind his store, he said.
Myrtle Beach investigators combed through the bin Thursday afternoon, hoping to tie the merchandise to items taken in a pre-Christmas theft at Caring 4 Kids in Myrtle Beach.
The items will be shown to Caring 4 Kids Director Barb Mains today for possible identification, said Myrtle Beach police Investigator David Garazioso.
"This is the first decent lead that we've had," he said. "We're still looking into it, and hopefully, we'll have some answers soon."
The thieves took more than $6,000 worth of gifts Dec. 22, police said.
The items were meant for about 900 children in rural Horry County.
Space at the Woodmen of the World lodge on Cedar Street was donated to Caring 4 Kids for storing donated toys.
"We had put bars on the windows and a barbed wire fence, but that still didn't keep the thieves out," said Lodge 1111 Treasurer Julie Brannock. "The lodge was full of just everything."
The thieves took Bratz dolls, Barbies and CD players, as well as karaoke machines and a radio.
Electronic items were not found in the trash.
Toy cars, stuffed bears, Barbies and a doll house were found in plastic bags. Some items remained in colorful Christmas gift bags.
"I heard about the missing toys," McKenzie said. "Something is not right. We popped open the first bag and noticed the price tags."
